Post Hosts County Legion's December Meeting

John RyanUtica Post 229 welcomed County Commander John Ryan and hosted the December meeting of the Oneida County Legion on Dec. 21, 2009.

With representatives attending from most of the Legion Posts throughout the county, the meeting featured committee reports and discussion of activities and upcoming events such as the oratorical contests, mid-winter state convention in January, national commander's visit to Syracuse in the spring, the county convention in June, and the NY Department Convention in Syracuse in July.

In other action, the posts voted to amend the county bylaws and change the two-day County Convention to a one day event.

Following the meeting, Post 229 treated attendees to a baked chicken buffet.
