Veterans Can Ride Adirondack Railroad Sept. 17

UTICA, Aug. 31, 2011 – The Adirondack Scenic Rail Road will host a free train ride for veterans on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Adirondack RailroadA ceremony honoring POWs and MIAs starts at 8 a.m. The train departs at 9:15 from Utica's Union Station, but riders are asked to be there at least a half-hour before departure.

Free to veterans (ID required), there will be a train ride to Thendara, then bus to Old Forge. Veterans must show their ID (such as Legion membership card or retired military ID). Specify that you are a veteran when making the reservation.

Non-Veteran cost is: Spouse is $18.75, Seniors $17.75 and Children $13.75.

Handicap access is not available for this event. Reservations are required.
