A Few Words from the Commander

I hope all of our members and their families had a happy and joyous holiday, and are experiencing a healthy and prosperous New Year.

I want to thank the Auxiliary for funding the free lunches on Mondays prepared by Pat Dodge.

Our new Cub Scout Pack is doing very well, with Dave Manore as the Legion liaison.

Our junior shooting range is being expanded so that our post may host tournaments in the future.

For our February food drive for "Feed Our Veterans" food pantry, please remember to bring any canned and non-perishable goods to help the cause (no glass, please). A collection bin will be in the vestibule for donations.

A heating system is being installed for the downstairs area of our post (where the junior shooting range is located and where Scouting activities are held).

Jim McGuire distributed turkeys to the First Presbyterian Home and The Salvation Army.

The Post has adopted the Pines, a Utica nursing home where 25 veterans are residents. We will visit them on holidays and bring cheer.

We are looking to submit a nomination for Senior Legionnaire for the Year award. If you have any suggestions, please contact me ASAP with a nominee's name, date of birth, and why you think he deserves the recognition.
