Post 229 Member Elected County Commander

LEE CENTER, NY, June 9, 2014 -- Anthony Palladino of Utica Post 229 is the new commander of Oneida County American Legion.

Elected at the 95th Oneida County Legion Convention June 7 in Lee Center, Palladino succeeds David Novotny of Lee Legion Post 1794.

An Army veteran, Palladino spent three years on active duty in the Panama Canal Zone and in the U.S. He served another 22 years in the Army Reserve before retiring at the rank of sergeant first class. Palladino, a Utica resident, has been a member of the American Legion for 43 years, holding various positions at the post, county and district levels.

  • Sgt.-at-Arms: Thomas Morgan, Meeker-O'Rourke Post 1309, Taberg.
  • Executive Board: Lucy Burgard of Lee Legion Post 1794, Frank Cassella of Utica Post 229, Duane Clark of New Hartford Post 1376, David Excell of New Hartford Post 1376, and Christine Panik of Charles Love Post 406 in Boonville.
