Auxiliary Crowns Miss Poppy, Scouts Post Colors

UTICA, NY, April 2, 2010 – The post meeting on April 1, which followed a roast beef dinner in conjunction with the 2010 top cop awards, featured the first-time posting of the colors by Webelo Scouts from the post’s Club Pack, and the crowning of 2010 Miss Poppy Laurel Riordan.

A junior member of the Auxiliary, Laurel is the 14-year-old daughter of Thomas and Capt. Robyn Riordan, and granddaughter of Roy and Theresa Jensen. Roy is a post member and Theresa is Auxiliary president.

In other business, a slate of nominees was presented for post officers, the post learned two members are to be honored by the Boy Scouts of America, and plans for the Memorial Day Parade are progressing.
