2 Adopted Platoons Coming Home

By Pat Dodge

MAY 24, 2010 -- On Thursday May 27, 2010, our platoon from Iraq is coming home. We have a contingent of people from the Post going up to be a part of the welcoming ceremony at Fort Drum.

We have already received word from our other platoon in Afghanistan not to send them anything else as they are breaking down camp after the 30th of May.

These reports represent two more successful adopted platoons that we have supported throughout their deployment, bringing our total to six platoons we have done right by.

We can all take pride in the jobs that they, the troops, have done and be forever thankful.

We had two fatalities during their deployment. Our men and women have served our country with pride and honor and dedication. God bless our troops and God bless America.

I cannot adequately express my gratitude to all the people of the post who have worked so hard this past year, who have made donations, who have been there behind the scene, so that we have the ability to adopt and support our troops.

God Bless the officers and members of the post and auxiliary, and also the friends of the post who pitched in.
