Utica Post 229 is very active (when not restricted by COVID pandemic), not only with its own events and activities, but also with sponsoring and supporting a number of events and organizations in the community — from hosting blood drives and bingo… to sponsoring baseball, Scouting and Naval Jr. ROTC… to supporting veterans in need and many charitable causes. In addition to involved Legionnaires, members of the Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion contribute to the life of the post in numerous ways, often making a difference in the success of fundraising activities and events like dinners, Memorial Day parade and Veterans Day ceremonies.
